The evaluation of university quality assurance is carried out by Quality Assurance Service. Quality assurance includes both quality assurance of educational process and additional mechanisms  of quality assurance(evaluation of academic and invited staff, evaluation of services, evaluation of material resources).

The quality assurance is based on the principle: P (plan); D (do); C(check); A (act), according to which Quality Assurance Service plans its activities, determines the evaluation/checking aspects of the university activities, verifies consistency, elaborates the inspection criteria, determines the competences of the inspectors while taking into account specificity of verification to be done, ensures  implementation of verification according to developed plans and criteria, verifies himself/herself and/or  shall create verification group with relevant competences for verification, analyzes  obtained the results, defines the reasons for the disadvantages and elaborates the relevant recommendations to eliminate them, defines the mechanisms for improving the identified weaknesses and maintaining the strengths, controls the planned activities and achieved results.

Planning: In accordance with the University Development Strategy Development Plan and other internal university regulations, Quality Assurance Service shall determine the work to be performed  for each academic year,which is reflected in the Annual Action Plan.  The 2017 Quality Assurance Service Action Plan included the following activities:

During 2017 Quality Assurance Service has implemented the following activities:

 

  1. Preparation of changes in regulatory provision of the study process Following the amendments to the Georgian legislation and the need of the university, the package of amendments was prepared

for  “the regulatory provision of study process of the LLC EuroRegional Study  University ”

and submitted to the Academic Board for approval.

Examination of the study tables and determining the conformity of the study table with study plans of educational programs

Prior to the commencement of the both academic semesters of the academic year,  Quality Assurance Service verified the spreadsheets, notified supervisors of educational program and faculty dean about present inaccuracy. Correction of inaccuracy and conformity of the study table with study plans of  educational programs was also monitored.

Checking the state of the material-technical base and determining compliance with the material-technical base envisaged by the educational programs

Prior to the commencement of the both academic semesters , Quality Assurance Service verified the  state of the material-technical base  and the recommendations were provided to the Rector to improve the situation.

Verification of the syllabuses of all the study courses provided by the educational program

 Prior to the beginning of both academic semesters, the syllabuses were sent to program supervisors, and the teachers for the update, after that monitoring of received syllabuses was carried out and recommendations were given to the program supervisors and professor-teachers.Verification of the Library Book Fund

 After receiving updated syllabuses, service carried out verification of the Book Fund. Rector was informed about purchase of new textbooks,  using which syllabuses were updated; Also were identified lost textbooks and  rector was

about need to purchase next textbooks instead of them.

Verification of the web site’s work and update of information

Service periodically monitored work of web site and gave information about this to the Head of University IT Technologies Service and rector. It also monitored correction of deficiencies.

Monitoring the students academic performance

 Service constantly monitored students academic performance during the academic year and the results were communicated by the Faculty Dean, Rector and Academic Board.

Monitoring of attendance of students and teachers’ on contact classes

 Service daily monitored  attendance of students and teachers’ on contact classes, results were communicated to Rector, Faculty Dean and professor-teachers.

Evaluation of the university program in uniform form

 During the academic year the educational programs were evaluated in uniform manner, the results were communicated to the Rector, Program Supervisors and Academic Board.

Elaborating forms of anonymous student inquiry, conduct research and analysis of results

 The  forms of  anonymous student inquiry,  have been elaborated for the purpose of monitoring the quality of the study process, educational program and study course and relevant researches were carried out;  The results were presented to the Rector and the Academic Board in form of analysis.

Survey of academic staff was conducted to monitor the quality of the study process and the relevant research was prepared. The results were presented to the Rector and the Academic Board in form of analysis.

Graduate Research

Service conducted  Research of  Graduates of 2015-2016. whose aim was:

  • Study of graduate satisfaction with educational program and study university;
  • Study of plans for continuing learning by graduates;
  • Collection of information on post graduate activities (employment, continuation of study and other post graduate activities);
  • Identify the reasons for unemployment in case of unemployment;
  • Study of satisfaction with working conditions of employed graduates;
  • Identify connection between education obtained at study university and graduate activities;
  • Identify the factors that have helped or hindered the implementation of the changes (employment and continuation of studies);
  • Evaluation of different aspects related to obtaining education by graduates;

 During the academic year analyzes of results of final examinations  was carried out and those results were taken into account in the results of the student academic performance monitoring.

Monitoring of implementation of the activities envisaged by the Action Plan and the achieved results and developing of a new action plan

For the purpose of eliminating shortcomings and errors and taking into consideration 2017 action plan an annual report has been prepared, which envisages implementation of activities and monitoring and recommendation of achieved results provided for by the action plan.  2018 action plan was prepared and submitted to the Rector and academic board for the approval.

Updating the Unified Instruction for Filling the Educational Program Curriculum

 For the purpose of advancement, modernization and bringing into conformity with standards of the educational program curriculum, the unified instruction for filling the educational program curriculum has been updated.

The service actively participates in filling self-assessment questionnaires of accreditation and authorization.  Information is delivered to relevant groups.

Summary analysis of the academic year, annual report, SWOT analysis and elaboration of relevant recommendations

 The Service has prepared the mentioned annual report, implemented summary analysis of the results and submitted to the Rector and academic board.

One of the key and important evaluation steps in terms of reaction and decision making is analysis of educational activity of the university,based on this, the socalled  SWOT analysis was conducted , which reflects strong and weak sides of the internal environment of the university.  The results were presented to the Rector and the Academic Board.

Creating an Action Plan for the next academic year

 2018 action plan was prepared and submitted to the Rector and academic board.
